New York –A 58-year-old man died after he was pushed onto the tracks of the subway, and was hit by a train on Monday afternoon. The assailant was described as being a black male in his 20s. He was wearing a tan shirt, black wool hat and black pants and was carrying a black jacket. Witnesses stated that the man appeared to be emotionally disturbed. He was talking to himself and got into a shoving match with another subway rider. Then he approached the victim and after they said two words to each other, he pushed the older man onto the tracks where he was struck by a southbound Q train at the 49th Street Station. The incident occurred around 12:30 p.m. After that the assailant left the scene. The victim was taken to St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital Center were he was pronounced dead.
